Day 01 - KATHAMANDU - NYALAM (3800 meters) - 155kms.
Approx. 6 hrs drive we reach KODARI (China/Nepal Boarder), half an hour drive to Zhangmu, where after completion of immigration formalities we drive further to NYLAM following BHOTE KOSHI River in a deep valley with some overflowing waterfalls.
Day 02 - NYALAM - TINGRI/LHATSE (4500m) - 285Kms.
Drive through NYLAM PASS (3800m) with the view of JUGAL HIMAL. A continued drive via LALUNG LA (5050m) has some of the outstanding in view of MT. XIXAPANGMA (8013m), Mt. MAKALU (8464m), MT LHOTSE(8516m) , MT CHO OYU (8201m) and MT EVEREST (8884m) .Overnight in guest house.
Day 03 - TINGRI/ LHATSE - XIGATSE (3950m) -195 Kms.
Depending upon the road condition we visit SHAKYA MONASTERY which is 52 kms return journey off the main road SHAKYA MONASTERY is one of the oldest and most important monastery in TIBET. Drive to Xigatse, the place of the famous TASHILUMPO MONASTERY the seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989 with its huge Thanka Wall clearly visible on the northern side of the road. Overnight in guest house.
Day 04 - XIGATSE - GYANTSE (3950m) - 90 Kms.
After visiting TASHILUMPO MONASTERY in the morning including the Bazaar of Xigatse, drive to Gyantse, which is small bustling town steeped in history. It lies 264 Kms. Southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of NYANG CHU River. In the 15th century it served as the capital of a small kingdom. Visit KUMBUM CHORTEN which was built around 1400 AD. It later became the main center for trade with British India. Overnight in guest house.
Day 05 - GYANTSE - LHASA (3650m) - 260Kms.
From Gyantse 8 hrs. drive takes you to Lhasa crossing the KARO LA PASS (5110m) and KAMBA LA PASS (5010m).The KARO LA PASS climbs two lofty mountains, NOZING KHANG SA (7223m) and RALUNG (9623m).While driving you will see the YAMDROK TSO (Turquoise Lake) which takes approx. 1 hr. to cross around. After passing KAMBALA, Lhasa valley is seen to north. You will also cross the Brahmaputra River. Reaching Lhasa and check into hotel. The accompanied guide will reconfirm your onward airline ticket. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 06-07 - CITY SIGHTSEEN IN LHASA.
These days you will be engrossed with sightseeing and excursion of the POTALA PALACE, THE JOKHANG TEMPLE, surrounding BARKHOR market DREPUNG MONASTERY and SERA MONASTERY. Overnight in hotel.
Day 08 - LHASA - KATHAMANDU or TO YOUR ONWARD DESTINATIONS.
In the morning after breakfast, transfer to airport 2hrs. Drive-Representative will assist you. Departure flight for Kathmandu. Flight Lhasa/Kathmandu lasts for around 01hr 10 minutes. During the flight you will see the YARLUNG TSANGPO RIVER, LAKE YAMDROK, MT KANCHENJUNGA (8586m) MT MAKALU (8463m) AND MT EVEREST (8848m) if the weather clear and permitting you.
